HISTORY OF VENTAQUEMADA
Some tourist places

         By Andrés Felipe Callejas Leiva

I am going to share you a little bit of history of my town called  Ventaquemada. My town was founded in 1777. Simón Bolívar signed the declaration of the Independence of Colombia in the House of the History in Ventaquemada on august 8th 1819 to close the final Battle of Boyacá.

Ventaquemada has some historical places, for example the stone of Pedro Pascasio Martínez and this place is very important for Colombia because Pedro Pascasio Martinez and his friend El Negro José was a younger who captured Barreiro the General of the Army from Spain.

Finally, the name of Ventaquemada has a particular history. One day a typical market was fired by strangers and Simón Bolívar said that this place is Ventaquemada.
